Hands, Legs & Feet Nails Manicure. A manicure is a beauty treatment of the hands. Your nails are cut, filed, and shaped. Your cuticles will then be pushed back and tidied, this is followed by a hand massage. The last part of the treatment will be the painting of the nails with the colour of your choice. Manicures are suitable for both men and women, they are excellent for maintaining healthy nails, cuticles and skin. Then of course there is the pampering aspect, of having a professional and experienced nail technician administering the manicure which allows you to de-stress, relax and enjoy some special time to yourself away from the hubbub of your normal life. If you also opted for a nail polish finish your technician will apply that finishing touch with the colour of your choice. Cuticle oil is applied at the end of the treatment as standard and rubbed into the top of the nail. Bio Sculpture. Bio Sculpture gel is a treatment gel which encourages natural nail growth and helps to condition the nails. Bio Sculpture have been creating high quality gels for over 30 years in South Africa, and have been here in the UK for over 20 years. It was the FIRST coloured, soak- able gel to be created. Bio have created many unique treatment gels to give you that bespoke nail experience/ prescription nail treatment for all different nail types, offering a large choice of beautiful colours or the option of a French manicure. It is kind to the natural nails causing no damage. It is 100% Vegan, cruelty-free and contains no dehydrators, primers or bonders. Clients go on average of 4 weeks between visits, (some go longer). On toes it lasts a good 2 months with no chipping, peeling or wear on the tips. Having Bio Sculpture gel involves the nails being prepped ready for gel application which will include pushing back cuticles, shaping of the nail and very lightly buffing on the surface of the nail plate just to gently take off the shine. Nails are assessed and the Technician then decides on the correct treatment gels to be used. The gel is then applied, curing in between each layer in a UV/LED lamp, finishing off with a high gloss topcoat or a suede matte finish. Nail art can also be applied to jazz things up a little.... or a lot! The gel is removed at each monthly visit to avoid build-up of product as this can make them look thick and unnatural. This way you can also change your colour choice. NO DRILLS used, it's all about natural and healthy nails. SNS. SNS stands for signature nail system. SNS invented dipping powders to give women beautiful and healthy nails; today SNS leads the industry with the world’s finest dipping powder products. Here at Look’s Beauty we can proudly say that we DON’T use drills!! The concept of dipping powders is simple – instead of applying liquid colours to the nail, you apply an adhesive base which is then dipped in fine coloured powder, with the nail then sealed with a special topcoat. SNS bases are formulated to shield the health and strength of the natural nails. SNS contains the organic compound ‘Benzoyl Peroxide’ so it can’t become resistant to bacteria. It’s odourless and fast drying. This means it doesn’t require a UV light. It’s flexible and strong, so it combines to best of acrylic and gels. The treated nails last 14 days or more in real life, everyday use. It’s lightweight - the nails feel light and natural and yet strong enough to use for those demanding chores. Cuticle oil is applied at the end of the treatment as standard and rubbed into the top of the nail. Gel. In short, a gel manicure is a coat of coloured gel that looks deceptively similar to nail polish. However, a Gel nail manicure is actually a ground-breaking technique that uses gel polishes that get cured (hardened) under UV lights. The result? Shiny, strong nails for weeks and zero drying time! After your nail technician has applied each coat of polish, you'll be asked to put your hands under a UV light to dry them and you're done! There's no chance of smudging and no further drying time necessary. Cuticle oil is applied at the end of the treatment as standard and rubbed into the top of the nail. Acrylic. Acrylic nails are nail enhancements. Acrylic is made up of a liquid and powder method, otherwise known as monomer and polymer. This forms a hard overlay over the nail plate. The brush is dipped into the liquid first (wiping excess liquid off the side of the liquid pot), then a small bead of powder is picked up and placed onto the nail. The mix is then patted and shaped on the nail and then hardens. This is repeated on all the nails. Once acrylic has been applied onto all 10 nails, they are then filed, shaped and buffed, cleansed of all dust, then applied with polish. At the beginning of your appointment, after you choose your preferred nail shape, length, and colour, your technician should begin your acrylics appointment by cleaning, soaking, and filing your natural nails. If you requested length to be added to your nails, they’ll add artificial tips after that. This step is skipped, however, if the request is for very short acrylic nails. Next, the nail technician will apply an adhesive before attaching the acrylic nails to all your nail beds. Any accessories, or nail art that you asked for at the beginning of the appointment will then be applied. Cuticle oil is applied at the end of the treatment as standard, and rubbed into the top of the nail. Hard Gel. Hard gel is hypoallergenic, which means it is less likely to cause allergies than acrylic. This is because hard gel uses oligomers rather than polymers. Oligomers are molecules that are comprised of similar or identical repeating units, which makes them larger and harder for skin absorption to take place. Hard gel is more flexible and stronger than acrylic, but it’s not as hard. A user of acrylic nails may feel that hard gel is weaker, but that is untrue. Hard gel can withstand greater pressure and it is less likely to break or crack than acrylic is. But like any substance, gel can crack if it is flexed beyond its stretching point. However, because it has more flexibility, it will generally cause less trauma when cracked than when an acrylic nail cracks. It can withstand greater pressure and it will cause less trauma if a crack does occur. Hard gel’s viscosity makes a proper bond because the gel will naturally flow into all the tiny crevices of a natural nail. This means gel will stick to the nail better and have less lifting. Cuticle oil is applied at the end of the treatment as standard and rubbed into the top of the nail. Legs & Feet Treatments Fat Dissolving At the salon our practioners use Aqualyx™. This is a water-based solution that is injected into the fatty tissue. It surrounds the cells and destroys them. The remains of the fat cells are then excreted by the body safely as waste. Aqualyx™ is used for people who want to get rid of stubborn areas of fat in their legs, faces and in their bodies and is clinically proven for these purposes. A consultation and medical disclaimer form must be completed prior to any treatment. Pedicure A pedicure is a therapeutic treatment for your feet that removes dead skin, softens hard skin and shapes and treats your toenails. A good foot treatment is heaven, but pedicure techniques can vary from type of polish to massage so it's important to find the right pedicure for you. At Look’s we offer a dry pedicure, or a wet pedicure where a footbath pedicure machine is used to cleanse and scrub the foot, taking off hard skin. Look’s does not use blades to remove dead skin. Toenails are cleaned, filed and the cuticles are removed. We use various foot spa treatments and provide a massage; the toenails are then treated and painted if required. Reflexology In reflexology, it is the pressure that is applied to specific reflex points on the foot that make it more than just a massage. These points correspond to organs and systems of the body. The treatment is said to induce a healing response, even alleviating some ailments. Pressure applied to the foot is believed to bring relaxation and healing to the corresponding area of the body. These pressure points are thought to be associated with the meridians, energy lines through the body. Reflexology is one of the most popular types of massage. 61 Darenth Road Dartford Kent DA1 1LU
