(Clients supply their own false eye-lashes) Gold Facial Gold facial can easily be customized for both oily and dry skin types, and it works wonders in rejuvenation of, and enhancement of elasticity of skin. It has anti-aging properties and helps in reduction of fine lines; it fixes oxidation damage, and damage from the sun that the skin is exposed to. It also assists in the improvement of blood circulation. Gold has always had amazing properties and was thought to be favoured by Cleopatra, of Ancient Egypt, who, it was rumoured, slept in a gold mask. This treatment is considered to be one of the most luxurious treatments offered. Facial Waxing Facial wax works with either warm or cold variation, which hardens against the area of skin with the unwanted hairs. It is then quickly removed in the opposite direction of the hair growth, taking the roots along with it. If you're looking for a cleaner look, and long-lasting smoothness, then facial waxing may be an option worth considering. The results of waxing generally tend to last between two to six weeks, but this can vary from person to person depending on their individual hair growth cycle. Waxing is most guaranteed to last longer than bleaching or shaving, where re-growth has been found to occur relatively quickly by comparison. ‘Tweakments’ Dermaplaning Essentially, a dermaplane facial is an exfoliation and hair removal treatment, carried out by a trained beautician, during which the surface of the skin is gently scraped using a surgical scalpel to remove dead skin cells and peach fuzz – the small hairs found on the face. This method of exfoliation, is now used widely for women and men who want their skin to feel and look amazing. The ‘peach fuzz’, or vellus hairs Dermaplaning removes will grow back. The hair growing back thicker or darker, is a myth. Microneedling Microneedling is a dermaroller procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin. The purpose of treatment is to stimulate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer toned skin. Microneedling is mostly used on the face and may treat various scars, wrinkles, and large pores. Microdermabrasion Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that harnesses fine crystals and a vacuum to remove dead skin cells. It is a non-surgical method of rejuvenation by means of mechanical skin exfoliation without chemicals or a laser. It can be used on the face, neck, shoulders, chest, back, and hands. The aim is to reduce fine lines, minor scars, wrinkles and age spots, and make the skin smoother and younger looking. It is possible that you may require more than 1 treatment. Microdermabrasion should not cause any skin colour changes or scarring. It does not work for more significant scarring, stretch marks, or deep wrinkles. It may also not be suitable for everyone. Your practitioner will be able to tell you if microdermabrasion is suitable for you, or whether an alternative treatment would be better. If you are suffering from any of the following, this treatment is for you. It improves the appearance of fine lines, scars and wrinkles. Sun damaged and/or uneven skin tones, skin prone to acne. Blackheads and whiteheads, and superficial age spots. Plasma Skin Tightening Plasma skin tightening is a non-surgical skin tightening procedure. Plasma is used to heat and tighten the skin. The results of a plasma skin treatment are permanent, although the skin will continue to age. Plasma skin tightening can decrease skin laxity on any part of the body. There are minimal side effects and complications following plasma skin tightening, although recovery may take up to 1 week. Temporary Wrinkle Therapy / Filler Treatments Face and lip fillers (dermal fillers) Dermal fillers are substances injected into your face. They fill lines and wrinkles and add volume to areas such as your lips or cheeks. Fillers are not permanent. How long they last depend on things like the type of filler and where it's injected. They usually last between 6 and 18 months. Most dermal fillers used in the UK contain a natural substance called Hyaluronic Acid. Please remember, if you have fillers, the rest of your face will continue to age as normal. What is the procedure like? An anaesthetic cream might be used first to numb your skin. Injections are given around the area of your face being treated, which is then massaged. It might feel uncomfortable but should not be painful. The treatment usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Afterwards the affected area may be a bit red, sore and swollen. Any swelling or bruising should settle down in a few days. You should be advised about what to do to help reduce the risk of side effects. This includes not wearing make-up immediately after the procedure, and avoiding alcohol, coffee and the sun. Liquid Rhinoplasty (Non-Surgical ) Non-surgical rhinoplasty is more literally known as a 'nose filler'. It is an aesthetic treatment suitable for women and men alike. The procedure involves using injectable fillers, most commonly Hyaluronic Acid, to alter and shape a person's nose without a surgery. Liquid Rhinoplasty cannot make your nose smaller, for instance, but it can alter and define the profile and shape of the nose. Cheek Sculpting (Non-Surgical) Cheek Shaping, is a completely non-invasive method to augment and ‘sculpt or highlight’ the cheeks. The process uses dermal filler injections to achieve a natural looking appearance, in a quick, safe and effective way. For those who have inevitably lost volume in their mid-face due to ageing, these treatments add back that volume, and smooths fine lines and wrinkles. Chin & Jaw Enhancement (Non-Surgical) An initial consultation determines both suitability, and the goals of treatment. A local anaesthetic injection is used to ensure that the treatment is as comfortable as possible. Dermal filler is injected into the chin/jawline to improve the shape, profile, projection and symmetry. Nasolabial Folds (Lips/smile lines) (Non-Surgical) Nasolabial folds extend from the nose down towards the corners of the mouth (also known as melolabial folds) and are the first indicators of the skin aging. This can be corrected by injections of dermal fillers into the surrounding areas in the cheek and face, adding back any lost volume, and effectively filling the smile lines. The Dermal fillers used at Look’s are made from the naturally occurring substance, Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic acid is very safe and has been clinically tested. Dermal Filler Corrections What is a dermal filler removal or correction? Sometimes the client may not be happy with the outcome of a procedure where dermal fillers have been used, or in rare cases where the treated area develops prolonged swelling or infection. This can be remedied with Hyaluronidase. Hyaluronidase is a prescription only medication that can help dissolve unwanted Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers. Although you may see an immediate improvement, it can take several weeks to work fully. Only fillers that are formulated with Hyaluronic Acid can be reversed with this enzyme. How does it work? Injecting Hyaluronidase into the treated area dissolves the particles of Hyaluronic Acid. Brows Microblading The procedure involves hundreds of tiny strokes with a specialised tool that build a texture looking like your own eyebrow hair. Microblading results can last 12-18 months, which is a big part of its appeal. What it does is cuts into the skin in the area of your eyebrows and implants pigment into the cuts. Microblading, unlike tattooing, is not in the deep layer of skin, but more on the surface. Applied to the eyebrow area, using ‘a microblade tool’ This is not permanent; the colour fades within 12-18 months depending on pigment. Microblading allows you to get the appearance of realistic eyebrows. Henna Brow It will appear matte and fluffier than regular tinting. Traditional hair and brow dye will tint the hairs, whereas henna successfully grips the skin. It is vegan friendly and free from peroxide activators, making it a suitable option for anyone with sensitive skin (however a patch test is still required). The results of henna brows typically last between 2-4 weeks, but it’s dependant on your skin type. If you have a dryer complexion, henna brows will tend to last a bit longer than they would on someone with an oily complexion. Brow Lamination A two-step eyebrow perming treatment that involves correcting the brow shape. This is achieved by setting the hairs in place using a chemical solution. In the first step, a cream is applied that breaks down bonds in the eyebrow hairs so they can be manipulated into a new position. In step two, a ‘fix’ lotion or cream is applied to rebuild these bonds and set the brows in their new position, giving a fantastic uniform shape to the brows. There are many brands of these products, even ones that are vegan friendly and free from peroxide activators, making them a more suitable option for anyone with sensitive skin (however a patch test is still required). Eyebrow Threading In threading, (epilation) a thin cotton or polyester thread is doubled, then twisted. It is then moved over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Contrast this to tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove short rows of hair. The advantages cited for eyebrow threading, include that it provides more precise control in eyebrow shaping, and that it is more tender on the skin. A disadvantage is that it can be painful, as several hairs are removed at once; however, this can be minimized when done with the right pressure. There are a few different techniques for threading. These include the hand method, mouth method and neck method. Each technique has advantages and disadvantages; however, the mouth holding method is the fastest and most precise. Eyebrow Waxing and Tinting Our eyebrows are one of the strongest features on our face, hence why there are so many methods used to enhance and thus make an impact. Step one to achieving a perfect set of brows is to define your natural shape and remove all those unwanted hairs. Waxing provides a perfect base on to create the brows you want. Eyebrow tinting is perfect for people with fair eyebrows. It gives a much stronger, thus more effective look. Eyebrow tinting consists of dying the eyebrow hairs with natural tints, Look’s Beauty provides different colours to match all skin tones and colouring. Eyebrow Lift A non-surgical cosmetic procedure, an eyebrow lift tightens and raises the skin on the upper area of your face, concentrating specifically the forehead and eyebrows. It can smooth out the furrows between your brows, raise up ‘drooping eyebrows’, open up your eyes, and remove lines on your forehead. Lashes LVL Lashes LVL Enhance is a treatment that promises to boost your lashes naturally. LVL stands for length-volume-lift. The idea is simply to use a setting lotion/serum to straighten natural lashes at the root. This in turn makes them look curled, and then the lashes are tinted, creating the appearance of mascara. Eyelash Extensions Unlike gluing a strip of temporary fake lashes onto your lash line, semi- permanent lashes are applied. The technician hand-glues the individual extensions on top of your natural lashes. Lash extensions don’t come in a strip, making them super customizable. That in turn means they actually look real. With the proper aftercare, eyelash extensions can last for six to eight weeks until they naturally fall out as your own lashes usually do. Russian Full Volume Russian full volume lashes, are ultra-fine synthetic lashes that although made from the same fibres as classic lashes they are much thinner so the lash technician is able to apply more than one to each natural lash. Typically applied in a fanned shape, which adds to the 'voluminous' look associated with Russian Full Volume. Classic and Hybrid Volume Classic lashes consist of one false lash, to one natural lash. Whilst hybrid typically consists of a mixture of volume and classic, usually on 30 - 70 split. This combined look creates probably the most voluminous of all the eyelash treatments.
